I am a designer and educator with 30 years of design experience. Below are work samples from different industries including education, finance, healthcare, and cultural institutions.
I am a designer who leads through education, collaboration, and strategy by encouraging people to work together to find smart solutions to complex problems. Mapping, diagramming, and process organization are guiding principles to my work along with having fun. I believe in creating a comfortable work environment for teams to engage and learn while making impactful contributions in the areas of UX/UI design, workflow mapping, and visual communications.
I currently lead a team of designers, content strategists, and researchers while working alongside product and technology teams to provide Truist bankers and clients with a clean, clear experience for opening new deposit, loan, credit, and savings accounts. We have designed a multi-channel experience that allows clients and bankers to simultaneously open new applications over the phone or in person. In addition to the account opening experience, we design and maintain an application search portal for bankers to access all application details and send clients links to resume saved applications. This work requires attention to detail, organization, file management, and high sensitivity to client and teammate needs.
Throughout my career I have designed for companies including Philips Respironics, Catepillar, the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh, UPMC, US Steel, McDonald's, Steelcase, Haworth, Carnegie Mellon University, and Point Park University. I have designed brand identities and guideline systems, communication plans and materials, packaging, exhibits, and signage. I believe in a design approach based on human-centered needs which translates into any media and deliverable.
